WORK - Again and again rats

After eating contaminated corn, rats turn into fierce predators and begin attacking humans. Kelly Leonard, inspector at the Department of Health, and Paul Harris, professor, will try to stop this unprecedented invasion.

Freely adapted from the best seller of James Herbert and surfing on the immense success of Teeth of the sea, this exploitation film directed by Robert Clouse (Operation Dragon) sees teakels and burrows disguised as giant steroid-boosted rats taking them mortally (the gore dose is there) to all those who cross their sharp teeth (old and baby included). And combining anxiety with romance (even flirting with vaudeville during a crazy sequence), this tiny politically incorrect horrific bisserie knows how to be appreciated in the second degree. Get ready! The invasion started...

That you have big teeth!

Exploited in 2014 in the United States via Shh! Factory, this HD master starts to date even though stable. The definition is thus uneven, the traces of the past still visible (of tasks and scratches) and the silver texture somewhat coarse. But the piqué is quite precise, the colorimetric palette well saturated (the red shades are very bright), the contrasts generally neat (to be well located in the undergrounds) and solid encoding.

There's a rat under my roof.

Distortion of these, sometimes abnormally metallic voices and saturations in the strongest acutes, disrupt listening... In VO as in VF. The first is nevertheless more natural and balanced, where the second has the merit of making available the dubbing present on the VHS. The sound of the rats (mixed loudly) loops with clarity and the score sounds very well.

CONCLUSION - Attention to harmful rodents!

If these mutants consume fresh flesh join the Angoisse Collection of Rimini Editions In blood and joy, why did they eat all the bonuses of the US edition? The traditional 24-page booklet written by Marc Toulelec (« Hard teeth and tight fists ») and the beautiful packaging digipack with cardboard sheath whose Blu-ray contains, unprecedented in our French countries, shares A/V performances certainly outdated but rather honorable for a movie of killer animals remained so long invisible. On the eve of the Olympic Games, no doubt the Parisians will shiver...

Nyctalope like Riddick and with a very good hearing, I am ready to jump on physical editions and SVOD platforms. But if the quality isn't on the rendezvous, stop at the bite! #WeLovePhysicalMedia
