WORK – In pursuit of the crown of fire
Loretta Sage, a brilliant but solitary novelist known for her books mixing romance and adventures in exotic settings, is kidnapped by an eccentric billionaire who is convinced that she will be able to help her find the treasure of a lost city mentioned in her latest book. Alan, his beautiful cover model, then set out to rescue him...
Despite an uninspired intrigue with too muchIn pursuit of the green diamondand a scene without panache (not Robert Zemeckis who wants), this comedy adventure where actors give to heart joy (a special mention at the « mean ») is a rocky quest that mixes humor, exoticism, action and romance in the good mood.
IMAGE – Like a glitter suit!
Apart from two or three tracks of compression (the stealth of colour banding), this UHD Dolby Vision transfer greatly improves the (dream) images of Blu-ray.
Verdoyant and bright, they take hold of a more affute pique (hairs, landscapes), an even more resplendent tropical colorimetric palette (sandra Bullock's fuchsia combination, green decors, orange shades during sunrises/layers) with increased heat, stimulated contrasts (dark scenes are more detailed and whites come out better) and otherwise more energetic lightings (projectors, reflections on liquid surfaces, solar rays that cross the top of the trees) with higher, more crumbling lights (clouds in the sky).
SON – Don't trust the cover
Much more spectacular than expected, the VO Dolby Atmos can count on the distribution of its effects (which go through all the channels), the commitment of its dynamics, the richness of its atmospheres (the fauna and flora of the jungle), the magnitude of its basses, the accuracy of its verticality (the landing of the private jet, the noise of the animals, the tremors of the cave), the euphoria of its music and the placement of its voices (light in all circumstances) to surprise the audience.
Even though it remains very well spatialized and is provided with a fun dubbing that integrates well with the rest of the mixing, the VF encoded in Dolby Digital 5.1 can only tilt to the precision (see the back) and the extent (the explosion on the island) of its 3D conister.
CONCLUSION – Adventure fiber...
While they weren't prepared to live a real adventure, our fake heroes will embark on an extravagant ride where the change of scenery is really total in 4K Ultra HD!
