WORK – A ticket for horror

In London, two students discover a man lying in a subway station. When they return to the scene with a police officer, the body is missing. Other similar disappearances have occurred recently. What's going on inside the subway? Detective Calhoun is investigating...

Horror of proximity well rooted in the daily life of his time, Death Metro fun of breakage of style (romance, sarcastic polar, contemplative gore) to better destabilize the spectators. A little forgotten today and sometimes tiresome (some sequences draw in length), this classic of British horror (initiated by Americans) which regularly refers to the hardness of class relations has for him a realistic approach to fear (sluggish natural scenery and a « human monster » as disgusting as it is pathetic) as well as a charming 70s stamp.

IMAGE – In the depths of the « Museum »

From a very solid 2K master, the image (perfectly stable) does not suffer from annoying dirt or inappropriate optimisation (DNR and/or EE).

The grain is fully exposed, the clarity is excellent both outside and inside the metro, the details are displayed with great precision, the calibration of the colors is neat (primarily signed Technicolor) and the contrasts pleasantly controlled (cf. the clarity of the darkest planes).

SON – Be careful when the doors close!

Despite limited dynamics, the VO is well balanced. The voices, atmospheres and atmospheric score are therefore clear, and the breath linked to the discrete age at the possible.

Too aggressive and acute, the VF (more open) sends mixed dialogues at too high a level and must endure an excessive breath.

CONCLUSION – Terminus, everyone down!

Delivered with a large selection of bonuses and a 24-page booklet (edited by Marc Toulelec), this digitpack edition from the Angoisses Collection is imposed as the object to possess for all movie lovers or curious cinema bis.

Death Metro

Nyctalope like Riddick and with a very good hearing, I am ready to jump on physical editions and SVOD platforms. But if the quality isn't on the rendezvous, stop at the bite! #WeLovePhysicalMedia
