WORK – The « city light » At the bites

In search of new thrills and emotions, three young Americans smack old Europe in search of the great thrill, whether in love, sport or other. Passing through the French capital, they decide to spend the night at the top of the Eiffel Tower, without knowing that their little night getaway will quickly lead them into a real nightmare...

Far from equalizing his illustrious predecessor, this « Further » late is being shot by silver bullets from a clumsy scenario that neither the uninspired staging nor the crochignole special effects come to a standstill. The mix of genres (between soft horror and potache humour) and the charm of the tasty Julie Delpy remains.

IMAGE – His majesty, the hair!

Equipped with a brand new 4K restoration from the original negative, the image encoded in Dolby Vision eats raw that of Blu-ray released in 2017.

The 35 mm grain breathes with a spontaneity of silver that is pleasant to see, the details that are much more subtle no longer feel the need to use fireworks (the edge enhanced has remained in the catacombs), the colorimetric palette restores more natural and firm hues (the colors are no longer louder), the best management of the contrasts corrected the old excessive brightness (the CGIs integrate much better into the darkness) and the different lights, better controlled and crammed, are otherwise more realistic (like candles at the cemetery and the morgue neons).

SOUND – Crying at the moon

Robust sound effects, especially when « monsters » Enter the stage (squeaks, loud screams, crowd movements), this multichannel soundtrack has biting!

Directivity is successful, bass roam when necessary, dynamics are not lacking in resources, dialogues are always clear and music, large and enveloping, adds to the atmosphere sought.

CONCLUSION – Love lengthens the muzzle

If this love walk leaves something to be desired, the present 4K Ultra HD no longer wants to tighten the ties. It's getting hairy in Paris!

The Loup-garou of Paris

Nyctalope like Riddick and with a very good hearing, I am ready to jump on physical editions and SVOD platforms. But if the quality isn't on the rendezvous, stop at the bite! #WeLovePhysicalMedia
