WORK – The Benefits of the Full Moon
Two young American backpackers embark on a journey to Europe of several months. But while they are in the middle of a sorry English campaign, the people of the country warn them: « Stay on the road, do not venture into the moor » and « Watch the moon ». The two boys sink into the darkness, when they are surprised by a terrifying scream... They don't know yet that they're being hunted by a mythical creature thirsty with blood.
Cumulating cult scenes (metro, porn movies) and tributes to the Universal Monsters, this horrific comedy ironically revisits the myth of the werewolf.
IMAGE – Hairy wolf, are you there?
Made from the original 35 mm film, the UHD HDR10 transfer, which is highly stable and covered with a nice natural grain, shows clearer details (when the capture allows), more vibrant colours (the red jacket of David), reinforced contrasts (cf. the clarity of whites and the richness of blacks) and increased brightness (light on wet surfaces)... Even if the photograph remains dark.
SOUND – Pushing a scream
Crying at the moon (more open and dynamic), the multichannel remix (in VO) unfortunately suffers from a continuous acute breath.
So it is better to turn to the VO DTS-HD MA Mono, where the absence of a rear scene (surprisingly pronounced in DTS-HD MA 5.1) is counterbalanced by the purity of sound.
CONCLUSION – Lycanthrope-yes!
And no, this funny and scary work doesn't just scream « Wolf » in 4K Ultra HD!
Nyctalope like Riddick and with a very good hearing, I am ready to jump on physical editions and SVOD platforms. But if the quality isn't on the rendezvous, stop at the bite! #WeLovePhysicalMedia
