Beyond the trepas of an ancestor « Living » through a pre-recorded video recording, small cupid scoops are found in a colourful pastiche of whodunit (at the Agatha Christie) under giallesque influence. And if horror, unlike black humour, is not among the suspects of this sixth adaptation of the eponymous play of John Willard, the great bourgeois mansion serving as closed doors is home, under its licked aesthetics, to an assured ludism (which unfortunately comes down again during a last rushed act) where death wanders lightly. Not able to live together, who of Titi or Grosminet will be declared winner of this part of Cluedo ?
On a stormy night...
While it oscillates (a little) according to the sequences of use more (some waxy faces) or less (when the organic aspect of the 35 mm capture is preserved) visible from DNR, this stable and particularly luminous HD master (in the spirit of the 70s) delivers a clean copy (the frights of time have been swallowed) to the very honest definition, to the acceptable level of details (the costumes and interior decorations), to the revived colorimetric palette (see saturation of the green shades) and to the contrasts of good bill without black clogged.
- He's a maniac?
Well distributed in its small frontal space, the monophonic VO 2.0 shows a beautiful dynamic without any distortion. Dialogues (broken by « British accent ») are clear, the effects incarnate with what is needed of finesse (rain, echoes) and suggestive score of Steven Cagan is securely returned.
Despite a very nice dubbing period, the French track must endure breath and dissipation of the atmospheres (the storm plays hide and hide) as soon as it speaks.
CONCLUSION - This is my will...
Intriguing and extraordinary, this gothic horror comedy joins « Angoisse evening » of the Rimini Editions in his suit of appartment (a superb three-vessel digipack slipped into a sheath) with his arm, the traditional 24-page booklet (Who wants to make millions?) designed by Marc Toulelec. And daring for the first time the high definition, there is no doubt that his (new) present A/V will surprise all the other guests!
