WORK – Motorized transfer to the devil
Two teenage lovers, Charlie Sykes and his girlfriend Rachel Clark, go to Las Vegas to marry in secret. On the road, Sergeant Bedlam, a police officer with a burned face, stops them and kidnaps Rachel. He is the hell cop whose mission is to provide the devil with virgins. Charlie borrows Sam's car and rifle, the local pumpman, and then starts chasing them...
Paved with good intentions, this B-series rock, rock and roll with crazy humour, the rhythm removed and the gallery lit up (including two small roles for Ben Stiller) is a road movie particularly crazy with unbridled creativity. What the hell is this?
IMAGE – Fantasy nightmar
Even if damaged in places (small stains and other minor vertical stripes) and leaving it poised from there parasitic tinglings, this master HD still remains no less than suitable for a film without-the-sor more than 30 years!
The grain of the image has a nice texture, the sharpness is of the part, the details are only rarely embarrassed (except in the deep darkness where they soften a little), the colorimetric palette is bold (the primary ones are well saturated) and the contrasts are not lacking in character (black ink and enterprising whites).
SON – I ♫♪
Low budget forces, sound design is not as crazy as the work it accompanies. Immersion is done only by knocks, effects/ambiences lack body, power is felt only when the score is activated and the sharps are sometimes a little aggressive. Nevertheless, dialogues are clear and global intelligibility never compromised.
More tightened and tested by a dubbing with questionable quality, the VF falls flat!
CONCLUSION – It's hot here!
Going all the way down the Hell Highway, this Blu-ray is ready to face some funny darkness!
