WORK - The religious mante of space
When Sil, a human/extraterrestrial hydride of great beauty, escapes from the place where she was on observation, the American army dispatches a government killer, a medium, a biologist and an anthropologist to find her.
Combining science fiction, action and sexy thriller within a tote scenario, this series B led by Natasha Henstridge would have been anodine without its advantageous plastic and presence of HR Giger behind the creature's design. Because if the pursuit holds in breath (the rhythm is removed and the setting square), the underexploited casting and the failed climax bring back the excitement.

From a 4K scan of the original negative, this UHD Dolby Vision transfer, which moults throughout a beautiful granular structure (a 35 mm capture), benefits from a much firmer definition than Blu-ray (the increased sharpness of the background) with otherwise finer textures (faces, animatronics, clothes), and is no longer subject to a slight tremor of the frame.
It also displays a colorimetric palette with unprecedented vibrance (blues and reds are fantastic) and great precision (nocturnal vegetation) where the carnation goes to a semblance of warmth very suitable in Los Angeles. The contrasts are very solid (blacks are velvety and glossy whites) and the brighter light sources (especially in discotheque and sewers).

If an Atmos update would have been welcome (even if only for the dreams and the aisles & arrivals of helicopters), this soundtrack encoded in DTS-HD MA 5.1 still has some assets to show despite a fairly small rear activity.
Frontal separation makes its small effect, the score of Christopher Young (under the influence ofAlien) has a great amplitude, the dynamics are noticeable, the LFE channel responds as soon as it is sounded (the music of the club, the breath of the flame thrower) and the dialogues are always clear.
CONCLUSION - Hollywood Reproduction
Certainly not the best thing that has happened to our good old blue planet, this no less enjoyable entertainment of the 90s enjoys a 4K upgrade worthy of interest that enhances the physique of its alien seductress!
