WORK – The hero becomes the fugitive...

A victim of a set-up, Mike Banning, a secret service agent, is accused of being the brain of an attempt to assassinate US President Allan Trumbull. Followed by the FBI, he's going to have to fight to survive and find the identity of whoever threatens the life of the president...

Do you like subtlety? Go your way! This big patriotic action film is an old-fashioned B series loaded in testosterone and directed by a badass hero (Gerard Butler still has the tile) that nothing or anyone can stop. The protective angel of the American President will therefore desold many villains (treasoners to the Star Banner) during excellent action scenes. Started in 2013, the trilogy ends on a note as muscular as ever.

IMAGE – Banning, this Action Man !

Highlighting the light grain added in post-production (which turns into tingling in rare dark planes), this UHD Dolby Vision transfer benefits from a pleasant cinematic texture absent from its HD counterpart. Better defined (not always a good thing with some special effects) and more detailed, the images also benefit from richer colours (photography that is less for free bluish involves welcome green shades), more beautiful contrasts (more opulent blacks and purer whites) and more sustained light sources (light of the day, interior lighting, flames caused by detonations, reflections on water and bodywork, headlights and/or gyrophares, interior lighting).

SON – Between two mandals, it's breaking out!

Very immersive, the VO Dolby Atmos uses a fighting rear scene, catchy high channels (a helicopter, drones, explosions, reverberations of shots and voices, etc.), aggressive dynamics and low-level training (see the truck chase) to plunge us into the heart of the action.

Also impressive and astonishing more inside at equal volume, the VF(Q) is not just as precise (notably on the side of the surrounds) nor as enveloping (loss of the verticality of the required sound).

CONCLUSION – The important thing is not the fall.

Nated by strong old-fashioned sensations, this third opus of the saga The Fall pays for the services of a 4K Ultra HD as spectacular as it is. In short, a target shot!

President's Fall

Nyctalope like Riddick and with a very good hearing, I am ready to jump on physical editions and SVOD platforms. But if the quality isn't on the rendezvous, stop at the bite! #WeLovePhysicalMedia
