WORK – Luxury Introduction

The magical kingdom of Lucis is home to the sanctified Crystal, but the threatening empire of Niflheim will not recede in front of anything to seize it. The war raged between the two sides as far as we can remember. King Regis of Lucis commands the Kingsglaive, an elite force of soldiers. Manipulating the magic of their king, Nyx Ulric and his sword companions defend the city of Insomnia, fighting the inexorable advance of the Imperial Army of Niflheim. In the face of the overwhelming military power of the empire, King Régis can only save his kingdom by accepting an ultimatum: he must yield all lands out of the city, and let his son, Prince Noctis, marry Lady Lunafreya, the former princess of Tenebrae and now captive of Niflheim.

Rich in emotions (while the characters lack thickness) and in very spectacular pieces of bravery, this animated film with the staging of an impressive fluidity, striking photorealism, the unique medieval futuristic universe and the thrilling scenario is a remarkable introduction to video game Final Fantasy XV.

IMAGE – « Kinematic reality »

From the all-digital rutillating to fine artificial grain, to the dazzling details, to the beautiful colors, to the exceptional grey scale and perfectly managed contrasts. And vis-à-vis the Blu-ray, it is on all points that improvements are seen.

The light sources are considerably more intense (explosions, magic, reflections on armor), the balance of whites is purer, the levels of black are richer and deeper, the colorimetric palette is otherwise more vibrant (cf. the primary ones) and the increased resolution allows to gain in textural complexity (face features, military uniforms, urban decors, palace ornaments, etc.), even though the aliasing (a problem inherent to the source) emerges from there.

In addition to this UHD HDR10 transfer, its HD counterpart seems bland and almost blurry in places (especially when the camera is shaking).

SON – Like a Chocobo scream!

Very harmonious, this warring soundtrack delivers overvitamin bass that flood battles, very enveloping atmospheres that use all the acoustic space, controlled pyrotechnic effects that fumes on all sides, an epic score of great amplitude and voices that detach themselves with a lot of natural.

For its dubbing and its more sinister dynamics, the English track is to be preferred.

CONCLUSION – Final Fantasy adventure continues...

An absolute technical and artistic result, this visual and also auditory marvel still finds the way to beautify (on the image side since audio remains unchanged) with this 4K Ultra HD signed Sony. For fans of the franchise Final Fantasy, the purchase can only be recommended.

Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV

Nyctalope like Riddick and with a very good hearing, I am ready to jump on physical editions and SVOD platforms. But if the quality isn't on the rendezvous, stop at the bite! #WeLovePhysicalMedia
