WORK – Lost in Murder
Careful and prodigiously gifted, Kate is the very example of the perfectly roded killing machine and at the top of her art. But one day she failed to eliminate her target, a yakuza in Tokyo. She then discovers that she was poisoned and will undergo a slow death execution that leaves her less than 24 hours to avenge her assassins. As her body fades at high V speed, Kate becomes friends with the daughter of one of her former victims.
Apart from a race-prosecution too furious and digital for its own good, this thriller of rhythmic action, or the too rare Mary Elizabeth Winstead does not joke in « Terminator » Indestructible (despite the poison devouring its bowels), is an entertainment to the raging violence and extreme stylization where the predictability of the scenario is largely counterbalanced by scenes of action under hyper tension!

Aesthetically influenced by John Wick and Atomic Blonde, photography « neon candy » of this fantasy Japanese underground world (Blade Runner 2049 Manga sauce !) makes the retina in UHD (DI 4K) Dolby Vision!
Visual show of every moment requires, there are details profusion from everywhere (skin burns, outfits, alleyways), vibrant colors to wish (« 50 shades » and blue) and lighting that explodes lumens. And as the narration makes the part beautiful to the night scenes, the contrasts had to be perfect... Mission accomplished in view of the correctness of the marriage between the blacks of an abyssal depth and the lights of an impressive brightness.
SON – It's messing up to death!
Tonitruante, the Dolby Atmos soundtrack that mobilizes as many channels as possible!
Generous in its spatialization (the pyrotechnic effects that circulate at 360° in the acoustic space rise sequentially to the ceiling) and willingly dynamic, it uses heavy and striking bass (it is better to like this) to give a lot of weight to each blow. And in spite of the severe rise in the diet, this mix is balanced since the dialogues and the score (well ventilated) stand out admirably.
If it is voices a little too over-mixed and a more timid (but still good) scale, the VF remains swift.
CONCLUSION – Don't piss Kate Wick off...
Collateral damage of a struggle for power, this revenge killer who does not miss any of his targets is pulverizing Netflix's audio-video standards!
