WORK – Some associations are explosive
A formidable hit man is forced to testify against his former employer before the International Court of Justice in The Hague. Interpol was then in charge of escorting to the Netherlands and engaged the best professional bodyguard to carry out this mission. But it was without knowing that for years, the two men have been opposing: they are now forced to join forces to try to survive the worst trials...
If the screenplay doesn't do in finesse, this funny and removed buzzy buzzy movie animated by very comfortable actors in self-derision is a cool and enlivened entertainment where humor works and the action detonates.
IMAGE – Never leave him from his eyes
Once accepted that the use of filters (of stylized orange), the effects of blur (of less sharp planes therefore) and the grain during flashbacks are an artistic desire to anchor the film in the actioners of the 1980s/90s, it is difficult to deny that a special care was given to this beautiful UHD transfer.
The definition is solid, the piqué chiselé (vis-à-vis the master 1080p, the increase of details is visible everywhere), the depth of field important (even more here thanks to increased precision), the bright colors and the ultra-push contrasts.
Thanks to the HDR, the blacks are much more stable (sometimes grey on the Blu-ray), the lights are much brighter (it's obvious when the characters stand in front of a window in the middle of the day) and the colorimetric palette is better saturated (it's striking on the primaries) or desaturated (in memory).
SON – Always keep your watch
Superb, this reference Atmos track is constantly immersive and does not help.
The dialogues are clear, the dynamics are extremely wide, the hyper-pointed directionality, the subtle and nuanced environmental atmospheres, the explosive pyrotechnic sounds, the circles in permanent action, the air scene often set in motion (the passage of helicopters, the resonance of the shots, etc.) and the LFE channel of a natural turbulent.
CONCLUSION – Fatal weapon Just to keep up...
Overvitamined action comedy as fun as spectacular, Hitman & Bodyguard is « protected » by a stunning 4K Ultra HD armed to the teeth!
