WORK – Get off the masks!
A year has passed since Michael Myers tried to kill his niece Jamie. Followed by the police, Michael fled through a canal and was collected by a hermit. When he wakes up, he kills the one who hosted him and resumes his hunt. In Haddonfield, Jamie, who became mute, was treated in a hospital as a result of her assault on her adoptive mother. She was then under the control of her uncle Michael. It is this connection between them that Dr. Loomis intends to use to stop the Halloween killer...
Failing any coherence and populated by characters all more unbearable than each other, this 5th opus of the franchise Halloween, where the screenholes are deeper than those caused by his boogeyman (moving into Haddonfield as an autopilot), is a borderlic slasher that does not generate any thrill or emotion. Remains pretty compositions of plans (where the shadow of Myers is never very far away) and murders (adolescents to baffle) a little more imaginative than in the past (since weapons vary).
IMAGE – The « dead » to life
More sober than that of the 4th and voluntarily less enlightened, the photograph of the work is otherwise better rendered in UHD Dolby Vision than in previous HD attempts.
The images are much more detailed (a good thing when the background poses the atmosphere), the original grain has been preserved (even if it flashes in very low light sometimes), the colorimetric palette is better prepared (primarily sipped with life and a more natural carnation), the contrasts are more balanced (the darkness is more visible) and the light sources, never too dazzling, are displayed with a new shine (lights, lights and gyrophares, neons, candles and j'en passe).
SON – Nooonnn !!!
A lot of impact (from the knife cuts on the writings of the opening credits) and multichannel presence on the side of this Dolby Atmos soundtrack which multiplies atmospheres (more or less discreet) and thundering effects (the rale of the boiler room at the hospital, the cracks of wood in the barn, the screaming of police sirens, the bursts of fire) from one channel to the next... The surrounds being « under pressure » and the verticality of the sound savoured (the screaming of the wind, the sounds of thunder, the click of metal chains). But odd if it is, it can happen to the dialogues, clear anyway, to invite themselves into the heights!
CONCLUSION – When there's more, there's more!
Half thought and struggling in the void, this mediocre episode still has the right to a beautiful 4K Ultra HD edition signed Shout Factory. Nevertheless, this purchase should be reserved for collectors who already have in their possession the first four films on the medium.
Nyctalope like Riddick and with a very good hearing, I am ready to jump on physical editions and SVOD platforms. But if the quality isn't on the rendezvous, stop at the bite! #WeLovePhysicalMedia

Ha ha is true that this episode is very bad :-p
Loomis looks a little crazy too and spends a lot of time screaming at the poor girl.
It's too much more, when she's already traumatized enough like that!
