There are strange things going on in Santa Mira, a small town with a quiet appearance. Audacious but suicidal, this « Further » aberrant of the franchise (history no longer has anything to do with Michael Myers and Laurie Strode) is a film of nihilistic and clumsy horror, with creeping terror and shock scenes (the test room), which aims to be a bitter industrial satire. But if the intrigue (quasi-police) is taking place, the conspiracy that is forming is as obscure as it is unseen.

Still approved by the director of photography Dean Cundey, this UHD Dolby Vision transfer from a new 4K scan of the original negative is just evil!
Very colorful, the photographic « takes colors » with hues that seem to come out of the screen like never before (blood red, pumpkin orange and Irish green). Widely improved, contrasts add a lot of depth to the image, especially during darker passages, thanks to denser blacks and sharper whites (medical coats, Mr. Cochran's hair). More sustained, light sources gain in natural (daylight) and wealth (artificial lighting).
Displaying more precise details (face textures, interior decoration) despite temporary softness (due to capture) and a grain sometimes shook by compression (with rare flashes), there is only the remaining dirt (some white dots) that come to tease Halloween party.
SOUND – Cause it ♫
Pulse by worrying music « Carpenterian » and the very stubborn jingle of Silver Shamrock, this soundtrack encoded in Dolby Atmos restores sinister atmospheres and pronounced effects (too sometimes) that introduce everywhere... Ceiling included with thunder (at thunderstorm) or announcements in speakers (at curfew).
And if it is obvious that the boundaries of the original mixing are felt from there (a predominant front scene, two or three suffocated dialogues and explosions without biting), this soundtrack is doing well.
CONCLUSION – For the Myers or the worst?
If Michael Myers' absence is not a heartbreak for you, this strange B series that imagined being part of an anthology is to be discovered in a 4K Ultra HD which, by its qualities (the big leap forward of the image and the opening of the sound), is decided to you « Apruting » in front of your videocaster!

I strongly recommend this film to the curious, it's really a great B series with a bloody barred plot and some visually interesting scenes!
