WORK – On Earth, misery!

In 2154, there are two categories of people: the very rich, who live on the perfect space station created by men called Elysium, and the others, those who live on the Earth that have become overcrowded and ruined. Max, an ordinary man for whom to join Elysium is more than vital, will take part in a most dangerous mission to save not only his life but also that of millions of people on Earth...

This blockbuster of committed anticipation (it is a question of class struggle) is a science fiction film rich in action (the second part is an implacable race-prosecution) whose credible post-apocalyptic universe that evokes the District 9 of the same director, the nervous setting camera-like shoulder-to-shoulder, the fast pace, the prodigious special effects and the talent of the entire casting, make the manicheism of an ambitious but a little naive scenario pass.

IMAGE – Bad beauty

Between an even more devastating definition (a clarity of every moment), details that explode richer at the four corners of the wide frame (the intermediate master 4K jumps to the eyes), a just delirious depth (the aerial planes are exceptional), divine colors (natural and scaly on the Earth then artificial and classy on Elysium) to the multiplied vibrance (the Blu-ray is fad in comparison), greatly improved contrasts to fall (white crazy and black shine in reinforced concrete) and much brighter light sources, this UHD HDR10 transfer is absolutely awesome.

SON – In space, salvation!

Without overbidding, the Dolby Atmos soundtrack (reserved for VO) is as immersive as it is balanced.

Dynamics send heavy, spatialization is coherent (more complete than in 7.1 thanks to the vertical dimension), subtle atmospheres, well targeted eruptive effects, wide score and biting bass.

Small in comparison, the VF is much more ground-to-earth without letting itself fall down (conclusive frontal opening and good spatial sensation).

CONCLUSION – Distribution of wealth

Brutal and realistic, this SF show with militant discourse enhances the credibility of its post-apo universe in Ultra HD Blu-ray.

Elysium

Nyctalope like Riddick and with a very good hearing, I am ready to jump on physical editions and SVOD platforms. But if the quality isn't on the rendezvous, stop at the bite! #WeLovePhysicalMedia
