Connected to society (a bitter portrait of the United Kingdom from the early 21st century) and inspired by the survivals of the 70s (especially the ultraviolent ones) Issue and Straw dogs), this descent into hell with painful realism (the scenes of torture) denounces two worlds that everything opposes in a series of brutality (more and more unsustainable) reserved to an informed public.

IMAGE - Let's walk in the mud
Resulting from a 35 mm capture finalized in 2K, this scaling with Dolby Vision calibration improves the attributes of the previous Blu-ray (published in 2009 in France) within a robust 4K transfer* (an average bitrate of 79.9 Mbps) better able to reproduce the photograph eminently flood Christopher Ross.
The images are sharper and more detailed (the skin grain, the wounds, the high tension line, ferns), the granularity is finer resolved (especially in low light where it was coarsely in the past) and the colors, very warm, soothe the old yellow overflow by associating with opportune brown shades. Moreover, the surrounding greenery and abundant bleeding benefit from enhanced saturation.
* Less if your hardware is able to read only standard HDR10 metadata, the dynamic flow reserved for Dolby Vision alone makes nearly 20 Mbps. So in the absence of this valuable information, expect several pixels uplifts.
But the biggest improvement is to look for contrasts with increased sharpness in the shadows (under the tent, in the car towards the village) and other brighter light sources (light of the day, reflections on the lake, campfire, vehicle lights, toilet lighting). Because with its HD counterpart, the darkness was greyish and the brightness curve much too flat (excessive in darkness and weak in high luminance). The highest value measured here is 873 nit.
SOUND - Bad education
Conclusive frontal opening and effective spatialization of ambient sounds for a VO DTS-HD MA 5.1 (24-bit, 4048 kbps) of circumstance despite a stealthy dynamic (when leaking in jeep) and missing subbasses.
