WORK – Who cares about the end of the world?

Kate Dibiasky, a graduate student in astronomy, and her teacher, Dr. Randall Mindy, are making an amazing discovery of a comet in orbit in the solar system. The problem: it is on a direct collision path with Earth. Another problem? Nobody seems to care...

When the cinema warns us about the climate disruption that kills our planet, it gives Donate Look Up: Cosmic Deni, a fierce satire to the amazing distribution and intelligent designs that imposes itself as the perfect movie disaster ! The time for collective awareness?

IMAGE – Look at the sky!

Captured in Super 35, the licked and textured image of the work benefits from a technically robust UHD Dolby Vision transfer with some compressive traces.

Supported by ardent contrasts and farting colors, it displays a beautiful silver patina as well as a solid definition, fine details and bright light sources.

SON – We're all gonna die!

While the effects associated with rockets, the concert scene and a few atmospheres that really use the attributes of a 3D mix, the VO Dolby Atmos does not lack any tile (the dynamic as the bass swing at the opportune times) or verve (the dialogues, which must represent 90% of the soundtrack, are perfectly clear).

Less wide and more frontal, the VF encoded in Dolby Digital Plus 5.1 cannot support comparison... Especially in view of the actors involved, whose talent encourages VO viewing (even if French dubbing remains of quality).

CONCLUSION – The reality we refuse to see

We have to go to the obvious, the planetary cataclysm has already no more after... And this absurd (and yet so realistic) dark comedy, totally committed and technically neat (not to mention the serious A/V services of SVOD), is there to awaken consciousness. Denial is no longer possible, the apocalyptic countdown has begun long ago!

Don't Look Up: Cosmic Deni

Nyctalope like Riddick and with a very good hearing, I am ready to jump on physical editions and SVOD platforms. But if the quality isn't on the rendezvous, stop at the bite! #WeLovePhysicalMedia

It's funny. I stumbled into this movie on Netflix without knowing anything about him and suddenly I saw him popping around on social networks. I'll have to look at it and I'll be curious to write a review on it, but only after seeing the same director's Big Short.
