WORK – Tumultuous night at the police station
The police station in a small town becomes the battlefield of a hit man, a beginner but ingenious cop and a crook who has taken refuge behind bars because he has no place to flee...
Carpenterian closed Huis in the form of a tribute to Assault, this well oiled B series where everything can happen sacrifice somewhat its characters, yet tasty (cf. the second roles) and brilliantly interpreted (with Alexis Louder in mind), on the altar of generous scenes of action to unbridled violence and virtuoso staging. Straight out of the 70s and influenced by the western, this fun and brutal shoot up does not take the lead.
IMAGE – Between four walls
Even more vivid and detailed than its HD counterpart, this UHD HDR10 transfer from a DI 2K is just fantastic.
Immaculate and with a great sharpness, the image has a sharper piqué than in 1080p (faces, decorations), orange and « teal blue » sharper contrasts (a point which is of importance since a large part of the plot takes place in places plunged in the dark) with corrected blacks (they are generally crushed on the Blu-ray) and considerably accentuated light sources (inner lighting, flames).
SON – This way.
Very animated without being subtle, this soundtrack DTS-HD MA 5.1 delivers an impacting dynamic, effects/ambiences « Balanced » From all sides (balls fuse and debris fly everywhere), very deep bass (this is notable when Clinton Shorter's score sounds) and dialogues, filled with « punchlines »,demonstrated clarity.
In the absence of a 3D mix, enabling a virtualization DSP allows to capture many height information (safety alarm, water curtains).
CONCLUSION – And the fastest trigger is...
Hosted under a flood of casings, this heavily armed 4K Ultra HD has some response... It's a good thing to see the triggerers in front of you!
