WORK – Travel to the heart of the unconscious
In the early 1980s, a young woman, Martine, was waiting for the arrival of her friend Bé Schmuller, who entrusted him with the loot of a hold-up perpetrated by his handmen. While she is patient before the gangsters arrive, Martine, in a state of hallucinations, realizes that she is not alone in this desolate place. A mysterious stranger, born out of nowhere, comes to meet him. The presence of the silent young man eventually comforts her. But does this strange individual really exist, or is it only the fruit of Martine's fantasies?
Guided by a kind of bitter poetry, this authoring psychological thriller who flirts with the fantastic sees the demons of childhood rise from loneliness.
Oneiric closed to intentionally erratic narration, anxiogenic atmosphere and singular formal delirium, Clash was, is and will remain an obsessive film curiosity straight out of the French cinema of exploitation of the 80s!
IMAGE – Monsters of our nights
Supervised by The Smoker Cat, this 4K restoration from the original negatives hunts our memories the execrable image of the DVD once sold in commerce.
Allowing a total rediscovery of the photograph, whose homage to the giallo now jumps to the eyes, it releases the light that was once imprisoned from the darkness (to make it simple, we could see nothing!). The colours are now rich (including the reds in the second act) and the contrasts have a lasting meticulousness.
And to complete the visit of this abandoned factory where dust reigns (yes, granularity is one of the guests), the details explode the least corners of the frame thanks to a sharp stitch and a solid encoding... It is also on these two points that the gap widens with its HD counterpart.
SON – Prisoner of his memory
Where the real and the imaginary constantly intersects, this soundtrack 2.0 mono of a great cleanliness (no breath or saturation) that alternates quietness and fear installs a disturbing acoustic game!
Rich with strange sounds and dotted with shock effects, it creates a good frontal immersion where voices, with certain clarity, do not collapse under the weight of many atmospheres.
CONCLUSION – Are fears essential?
Beyond its remarkable technical performances, the greatest victory of this edition 4K Ultra HD limited to 1000 copies is to have exhumed a mysterious nightmare « retracted » of which it is urgent to remember!
