WORK - Like dog and cat

Dog and Mirales, two childhood friends, live in a small village in southern France where they spend most of their days hanging out on the streets. To kill time, Mirales used to tease Dog until he became his pain and pain. But that summer, Dog meets Elsa with whom he lives a love story...

Concerned about loneliness and abandonment, this minimalist social chronicle in the great tradition of the French cinoche of the 70s twists the neck to narrative archetypes to evoke the mal-être of a neglected rural youth. And carried by the wonderful Anthony Bajon (the mutic), Raphael Quenard (big mouth) and Galatéa Bellugi (I'm insoubted), touching with malice, this upset bromance that has a heart and a soul dispenses throughout a pretty arid melancholy generated by disillusionment. With his double shot to the 49th Caesars Ceremony (best first film and best masculine hope), it is at the birth of a young filmmaker to follow (Jean-Baptiste Durand) which we have just attended. As cabosed as it may be, friendship will always win!

« If you don't have any money, you don't have a chick. no chicks, no problems; Don't worry, don't have a life. »

IMAGE - The village of boredom

From a digital capture 1080i to 25 images/second with the use of specific optics that have made it possible to obtain a granularity close to silver, the beautiful photograph of Benoît Jaoul is superbly returned by this HD transfer to a handful of planes near (the low encoding of 25 Mbps causing noise on some flats united like walls).

The definition does not fall for a second and the details are generally excellent (the faces, clothing and natural scenery of the south of France), as the light softness of the frame and the blurring background are the result of an artistic will.

The realistic colors with marked bias (a cold sand palette in the day and warm tangerine at night) radiate and the contrast beach, which expresses itself best in the light of the lights of the high square of the village, is admirable (especially during the pursuit in the narrow alleys of this southern town) with its blacks knowingly taken off in places and with a reflected density the rest of the time.

Case dog

SON - Dog barking doesn't bite

If it lacks a hair of dynamics and the LFE channel is rarely used (for the diffusion of songs here's all), this multichannel soundtrack (2.0 untested) with audible dialogues (even when they are mumbled) heals its spatialization with finely distilled sounds. The atmospheres benefit rather well from the surrounds (cf. the passages by car) and the score signed Delphine Malaussena Don't miss it.

CONCLUSION - I love you... neither do I

In their « Golden niche » the naturalistic setting sublimated by the Blu-ray (a/V performances), two « Fauve brothers » soon separated by a pretty lady will gradually loosen the jaw to better live their lives... And to highlight the talented filmmaker behind this sweet-sweet-sweet cinema having been able to bring together critics and audiences, the edition presents in HD (1080i) two of its short films: He came from Romania (2014, 21 min) and True guy. (2021, 18 min).

Nyctalope like Riddick and with a very good hearing, I am ready to jump on physical editions and SVOD platforms. But if the quality isn't on the rendezvous, stop at the bite! #WeLovePhysicalMedia
