WORK – Good lady robber
Selina Kyle, the Catwoman, is just trying to steal the most precious emerald in the world. Unfortunately, this emerald is currently in possession of Leviathan, the world's largest criminal organization...
Influenced by the series Signed Cats Eyes and sipped to the mouth of wonderfully dynamic action scenes, this anime of the DCAU with exquisite retro Japanese style and great lightness presents us an adventure (lupinesque) of Catwoman whose stakes, of course weak, are counterbalanced by a very fluid animation, well dosed humour (burlesque) and amazing sexual tension.
IMAGE – The « Pasta » of the Gotham's thief
More luminous than most other DC animation films because of its visual style, this production that combines 2D and 3D benefits from some advantages in UHD HDR10 without being a decisive upgrade to its HD counterpart.
Although there is no improvement on the details side, the visible positioning of this one in Blu-ray is no longer a problem here, the colors now brighter (the red hair of Batwoman) benefit from more subtle gradients (the shades of green of the costume of Cheshire), the less contained contrasts (even if always flattened by diffuse lighting) reveal denser blacks (the shadows) and more delicate whites (the team's suits) Black Mask), and the light sources are enriched with a somewhat large glow (neon lamps, reflections on jewels and white weapons).
SOUND – You're my meow meow
Electrified by Yutaka Yamada's fantastic jazzy score, the decent VO DTS-HD MA 5.1 whose moderate dynamics (but enough punchy) and discrete (but robust) sound effects are an integral part of mixing, diffuses clear voices and uses effective directionality.
Proposed in Dolby Digital 5.1, the VF(F) which lacks a terrible relief is simply dropped at the back (the surrounding scene is like asleep).
CONCLUSION – What's wrong with a cat?
As she tries to steal an invaluable jewel and finally exposes herself to the light of the DC Universe Animated Original Movies, the woman with velvet legs plants her claws deeper in 4K Ultra HD !
