WORK – A good Vampire is a dead Vampire!

For millennia, the secret vampire nation has been infiltrating the high spheres of power. Head, Deacon Frost. Its goal: to conquer the world. Only Blade, a half-human half-immortel, with their strengths but none of their weaknesses, can reverse the course of things if the world of the living comes to an end...

Adapted from a Marvel comics, Blade is a superhero movie R-Rated fantasy-horrific that features a half-man, half-vampire, solitaire warrior who constantly hunts down blood suckers.

Wesley Snipes fits perfectly with his character, Blade's superhuman abilities are well exploited during the many and spectacular action scenes (the remarkable opening sequence) inspired by Hong Kong's cinema, the scenario is well on the way (even if you're not there for that) and only the CGIs are now a little out of date.

An adult entertainment with a dark atmosphere and a devilish tempo where it does not bother.

IMAGE – Matrix before the hour...

Nourished with dense blacks (but never crushed as on the Blu-ray) and emeritus reflections, the ultra-contrast image benefits from superior resolution (details are very impressive) and colors « nights » reinforced (including cold blues and vibrant reds).

But the 35 mm texture (finely textured) is sometimes blunted by the intrusion of DNR.

SON – It's the vampire kiss...

Proven killer, the new Atmos soundtrack delights with a striking dynamic, virevoltant effects (movements of the boomerang sword) and dantesque bass (cf. music in the nightclub). The dialogues are clear, the atmospheres are swarming everywhere, the score has a hell of a magnitude and the high channels are heavily armed (blood showers, the resonance of the shots, bats).

Even though robust and hooky for simple Dolby Digital, the VFQ lacks the weight in comparison.

CONCLUSION – It's worse than vampires!

On a very good bill, this techno-vampiric action film bourrin (the PG-13 of the MCU was not yet up to date) releases the fangs in Ultra HD Blu-ray!

Nyctalope like Riddick and with a very good hearing, I am ready to jump on physical editions and SVOD platforms. But if the quality isn't on the rendezvous, stop at the bite! #WeLovePhysicalMedia
