WORK - Barbecue between old friends
In order to clear the name of their late captain, accused of collaborating with the drug cartels, Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett embarked on a dangerous mission. But to do this, Mike's son must be temporarily released from prison...
Back to business with this overflight suite where everything is just speed and movement, Will Smith and Martin Lawrence fun like little fools in front of the flirting cameraAdil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah Monkey with panache « Bay style ». The artistic direction is neat, the many action scenes are as fun as they are uncomplexed and notwithstanding a all-out intrigue praising a little too much on the side of the saga Fast & Furious, perfectly fills his specifications (racing-prosecutions, shootings, explosions and potache jokes) with communicative enthusiasm. Definitely, this franchise is only pleasure (regressive) in the bar!
« If you look at this, I must be dead. I don't know who's behind this, but don't trust anyone. You're my Bad Boys, wash my reputation. »
Captain Howard
IMAGE - In the heat of action
A result of a digital capture (up to 8K) with a very attractive film patina (but without an ounce of granularity), this magnificent UHD Dolby Vision transfer devoid of any encoding failure (an average bitrate of 68.9 Mbps) returns more faithfully than its counterpart 1080p the flash photography concocted by the chief operator Robrecht Heyvaert (already at work on the third opus)... HDR and WCG technologies make all the difference. It's slamming!
The images are more resolute than in HD (this is notable during the wide shots on the city of Miami), the increased precision of the frame is visible throughout and the improvement in the return of fine details regularly noticeable (cf. the very close-ups on the faces). More catchy because more refined, textures actually reveal structural subtleties on facial expressions, textile fibres, decorative elements and the iconic architectural design of « Magic City ».
Under the stifling heat so characteristic of the saga, the colorimetric palette « Taste the Rainbow » (reference to Skittles is not innocent) and light sources « over the top » (between glittering urban landscapes and sunbathed beaches) only express themselves fully here...
The above-saturated colours gain vibrance (especially the bright pink and green lights of the strip club), the range of contrasts is reinforced (richer blacks that define the shadows much better) and the lighting, whether natural (light of the day) or artificial (neons, projectors), enjoy a more pronounced intensity. Moreover, only specular reflections (as on bodywork) spray the SDR calibration. MaxFALL was measured at 394 cd/m2 and MaxCLL at 1071 nits.
Whacha gona do? 🎶
The franchise continues to impress on the auditory level but leaves the locker room with the DTS format:X labeled IMAX Enhanced from its predecessor (where the basses were only impressive with a certified amp) for a mix Dolby Atmos (24-bit, 4304 kbps) that dissipates mesmerously. For the time being, have we ever seen the fight against louder crime?
Ultra engaging in its spatialization (it must be said that the camera does not hold in place), exuberant in its sound design (gunshots slam, explosions sound, motors roar and atmospheres fuse) and thundering in its easily disproportionate extent (dynamics smash everything on its way and bass castaging the plexus), this danthology soundtrack that hates calm really gives everything it has.
Energy efficient partition of Lorne Balfe (self-citing his own work on Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning, part 1) which enjoys a wide multichannel presence offers the LFE channel its best seat (an exceptional roundness) and the dialogues, never submerged by the action hustle and bustle, are strongly exuded by the power plant for an intelligibility of every moment.
The VF DTS-HD MA 5.1 (16-bit, 2245 kbps) offers a less demonstrative hue (a slightly reduced wrap and a barely attenuated power) but equally saturated with noise and energy. The dubbing is well incorporated.
- Too old for this bullshit?
In this turbulent buddy movie where you take the same and start over again, explosive action and irreverent humor pulls off without signs of fatigue... Especially as the present 4K Ultra HD, equipped with physically sharpened A/V features, helps to fight cholesterol!

Nyctalope like Riddick and with a very good hearing, I am ready to jump on physical editions and SVOD platforms. But if the quality isn't on the rendezvous, stop at the bite! #WeLovePhysicalMedia

[...] licked from the derealized photography of the director of photography Robrecht Heyvaert (Bad Boys: Ride or Die) finds in this HD transfer a solid box able to reproduce the naturalism of daytime scenes [...]
Hi,
For my part seen in blue-ray, the image delivered by this one is sumptuous, detailed and full of eyes. Audio level the VF track is not left behind and makes all the channels work properly and plunge us into the heart of the action. Very good film for my part which concludes well the saga (because I don't think there will be a sequel);
