WORK – Slavery, a distant ghost?

The successful author Veronica Henley found herself projected in the 19th century slaveman and had to penetrate the mystery of this journey to the past to escape before it was too late...

Despite its predictable twist, this social thriller (and not horrific stricto sensu) very committed (he strongly denounces the racism that is burning the United States) tends to remind that the past is never dead! Deeply up-to-date (the #BlackLivesMatter movement) and carefully staged, this American nightmare is a strong political burn.

IMAGE – Beware of appearances

If it's in the game « planting » that his soul is (from digital to silver air), the image reaps equally good results in the segment « Modern ».

Apart from the blue drifts on the carnation (a limit of the capture?), the details gain in sharpness, the rich colors, the contrasts (particularly sliced) in shade and the light sources in authenticity (cf. the incandescent sky during the opening scene).

SON – You'll get in trouble if you talk.

Regorging from moods (natural or urban) to 360° and from clumsy basses in the score, the VO sample Dolby Atmos sows anxiety (the strident violins of the score are not strangers) on any occasion... Even if a little more restraint would have been desirable for his own good.

Below the VO since less ample and private air scene (even if rarely « called » The French version lossy (and its quality dubbing) remains clear and dynamic.

CONCLUSION – The past never dies

Less scary than expected but much more impacting, this painful dive into the hell of slavery sounds even more like 4K Ultra HD. Ready to kill yesterday's horrors that tend to reincarnate?

Nyctalope like Riddick and with a very good hearing, I am ready to jump on physical editions and SVOD platforms. But if the quality isn't on the rendezvous, stop at the bite! #WeLovePhysicalMedia
