WORK – The massacre becomes permanent!
Adela and her husband Juan live in Texas, where Juan works in the ranch of the very easy Tucker family. Juan earned the esteem of Patriarch Caleb Tucker, which triggered the jealousy of Dylan his son. The morning after the annual violence broke out, a masked group attacked the Tucker family, including Dylan's wife, and her sister, forcing both families to unite and organize a response as the entire country plunged into chaos and the United States gradually disintegrated around them.
Burning with the strong political content that denounces (without nuance) the racism and xenophobia of some Americans during Trump while addressing (without reflection) illegal immigration, this flight (diurn) to Mexico (or Canada) to solid staging, credible actors, permanent tension and controlled (but less violent) action scenes, is put in trouble by undeveloped characters and a background far too caricatural. However, saga enthusiasts should continue to appreciate the proposal.
IMAGE – Purge in broad daylight
This UHD HDR10 transfer carries a beautiful image with increased sharpness (its HD counterpart is much softer), better textured details (this is noticeable on the environments), a more complete colorimetric palette (see the vivacity of the primary), firm contrasts (whites are brighter and darker) and exceptionally striking brightness (lights are optimal intensity). In short, upgrading to Blu-ray is often consistent.
SON – Deflation of violence
In the midst of chaos, this Dolby Atmos devil immersive soundtrack engages without sparing its efforts.
Delivering a spatialisation that abounds with pyrotechnic effects (resonance of shots) and atmospheres « anarchics » (the police sirens in the background) on all the enclosures at its disposal (healthy surrounds and impressive height climbs), it is also provided with a dynamic « monster », clear dialogues, an enveloping score and vehement bass (notably when a tank adventures around).
Less precise (compression went through this), the small VF still remains fairly large and well distributed (even if the height scene is missing).
CONCLUSION – Where's America going?
While the rules of « game » are no longer respected, this 4K Ultra HD may well be your last defense against « true patriots of America » Hey!
