WORK – The last hours of the Purge
A U.S. senator is running for the presidential election by proposing a total shutdown of the annual Purge. Its opponents then enjoy a new edition of this day where all crimes are allowed to hunt and kill her...
This series B hurried and stuffed with adrenaline that includes the ingredients that made the saga successful, is an ultra-violent and oppressive survival that defends with sincere rage democracy against the law of the talion.

Clearly more stable and nuanced than its HD counterpart, this solid UHD HDR10 transfer governs the crad and apocalyptic atmosphere of the work more cleverly.
The deliberately dirty grain is no longer fluctuating, the already very good bit of Blu-ray (except for some passages where the definition decreases) becomes more precise even when the streets are swollen, the colorimetric palette with neutral hues sees the bursting vivacity of its primaries (more electric blues and more ardent reds), the twilight contrasts deepen the darkest areas of the frame while accentuating the brightness of the whole, the lightings that are much better reproduced in low light extend a completely different intensity (cf. the Washington lights) and the compression is no longer surprising.
SON – Voted!
Unsurprising but outright brutal, this mix that displaces serious (cattle dynamics and oppressive basses) delivers frustrating effects (the city is presided over by chaos) and distressing atmospheres (on all speakers) without masking voices or music. For its part, even if engaging, the VF is wiser.
In front of the old track DTS-HD MA 5.1, the soundtrack encoded in DTS:X is even more enveloping and stunning... It is therefore difficult to escape when the shootings that sound from all sides have more presence, the agitation in the streets rises by a big step and the height scene begins to purge (the announcement of the event, the overflights of the helicopter, the echo of the shots).
CONCLUSION – The end of a great American tradition?
More ambitious and politically impregnated, this election year's Purge is pushing its campaign in 4K Ultra HD!
