WORK – One Cluedo life size
Famous writer of polars, Harlan Thrombey was found dead in his sumptuous property on the evening of his 85th birthday. With a sharp mind and a deboning mine, Detective Benoit Blanc was hired by an anonymous sponsor to solve the case. But between Harlan's family, who are tearing apart and his staff who remain devoted to him, White plunges into the meandering of a turbulent investigation, mixing lies and false leads, where the rebounds flow at a frantic pace until the very last minute.
This part of Cluedo Not devoid of humor, where false leads and twists flow in the spirit of Agatha Christie's work, is a malicious whodunit that modernises the genre by playing with the expected codes. The script is ingeniously constructed, the sophisticated staging, the colorful characters (the detective Benoit Blanc) and the impressive distribution. Rejoicing and hilarious, this investigation is very convincing.
IMAGE – Manor investigation
Captured digitally before being reworked in postproduction (unsaturated colors and silver patina), the typical images of the work are absolutely magnificent on 4K Ultra HD support.
Digging a crazy gap with its HD counterpart, which in comparison is full of defects (archi-visible compression and coarse grain) in addition to delivering a horrendous appearance « fake » (in contrast to the present UHD Dolby Vision transfer), they display a high homogeneity in which granularity is controlled, the details multiplied (see the textures of the decorations and the backgrounds outside), the colorimetric palette otherwise denser (more warm and primary interiors more lively), the contrasts clearly refined (the whites are no longer extinguished and the darkest corners are more legible) and the light sources better varnished (the felted lights of the manor) without « type » in too much brilliance.
Surprisingly if it is, the frame trembles slightly all along... but it's the same on the Blu-ray.
SON – It's always Colonel Mustard!
Avares in unscripted effects but leaving a multitude of ambiences (notably forest and urban), these very dynamic sound tracks focused at first glance on the front stage (which is not necessarily the case since the scripted field is very well spatialised at the back) delivers clear dialogues and a particularly playful score.
Adding to the atmosphere of places (a plane, birds) and refining the presence of clues (the « deaf noise »), the height channels are a real plus that benefit the VO.
CONCLUSION – Let's do a little more?
As every clue counts to conduct the investigation, nothing better than this Ultra HD Blu-ray to put all the chances on its side!
Nyctalope like Riddick and with a very good hearing, I am ready to jump on physical editions and SVOD platforms. But if the quality isn't on the rendezvous, stop at the bite! #WeLovePhysicalMedia

Daniel Craig is brilliant in this movie. I enjoyed the movie!
I'd say more, his British accent to cut with a knife is a treat. To look absolutely (and as always) in VO!
