Viking Wolf, Troll?
If the miniature proposed and the title do not make you want to start, this small series B appeared in complete discretion at the beginning of February 2023 on Netflix, where she found herself propelled into the top 10 of the platform (a bit like Troll, the other Norwegian horror movie that worked well at home), is willing to be watched.
Twilight without vampires?
The beer flows on the edge of this fjord surrounded by dark forests, where young people simmer in alcohol and dance. Thale, a young Norwegian woman, tries to integrate herself into it, escaping the surveillance of her mother, a pellin cop. Uneasy in the midst of all those teens she doesn't know, she's going to get away from the group and find herself witnessing a wild killing... Thale will escape by herself after being bitten. If the first analyses point at a wolf, it would seem that he does not really respond to the normal measurements of the canid.
Viking Wolf Starts as a common teen-movie: young girl ill in her skin, exhibition in a party dados, lovers who touch, title to the bite-me-le-node... All boxes are checked. Yet, Stig Svendsen (now known for the in camera) Elevator) will gradually twist the codes to instill a darkness that will cross the feature film from end to end.
Black but not leadant
From ten-movie to a very dark film, that's the big gap that offers us Viking Wolf. A choice of characters almost always used at the foot of their appearances (whether for the specialist of the great predators or for the shock team supposed to go to shoot the killer wolf) allows to breathe a comic shift into the feature film. The little B-series never becomes heavy, even though it allows itself to explore the darkest corners of its story.
Wolf-garou, new blood?
Then of course, Viking Wolf Do not return the codes of the werewolf movie, far from necessary. We would have wanted more daring in the transformations, some characters do not serve much and the photo is a little dull. But this small production offers a current and devilishly effective reading of the lycanthrope: the film is definitely not valiant in tension and does not hesitate to a good dose of gore. In addition, the CGIs, which are quite well on the road, are well used after good off-site management. What more can I ask for?
And if the semi-open end of it will probably unravel more than one, it lets us see an even darker conclusion!
