From the genre film Titanium, Golden Palm of Julia Ducourneau in 2021, to Coralie Fargeat who flooded the hemoglobin crusette with her body-horrific comedy The Substance, the female look questions our representations. President of the short film jury of the 32nd edition of Gérardmer's International Fantasy Film Festival, Emma Benestan, director of Animale, exchanged with us about horror cinema for women. In recent years, genre cinema seems to be increasingly invested by women, as if it had become the most suitable ground to deal with the contradictions of our time. Replica has been increasing ever since the #Metoo earthquake and it's so much better. Good viewing!
