Babysitter Bloodbath has a catchy name and be assured that the label does not try to burden you with the merchandise! Earl a un problème. Il s’est pris une cuite la veille et a perdu son alliance lors de sa déroute éthylique. Oh et la bague est probablement nichée dans le gros intestin d’une carpe ! Le programme de gueule de bois s’annonce chargé pour notre ami qui décide de partir à la recherche du sésame, inquiet à l’idée que son épouse ne découvre le pot aux roses. Qualifié par ses créateurs de jeu d’horreur de pêche en 3D, ce prototype a été créé lors d’une fishing horror jam et nous rappelle graphiquement les plus belles heures de la N64. Pêchez les tous ! À moins que quelque chose d’autre ne vive sous la surface du lac…
Feed Me Billy
Developer: Puppet Combo - Full game
Probablement mon préféré de cette liste. Feed Me Billy est à la fois régressif, violent, stupide et dérangeant. On y incarne un tueur en série qui massacre des victimes innocentes pour ensuite donner leurs cadavres à manger à une créature qui vit dans un trou au fond de son appartement. L’idée fait penser à The Pit de Lew Lehman, merveilleux nanar horrifique canadien que je conseille à quiconque veut passer une soirée à se bidonner. Savourez cette bande-annonce ! Mais revenons à nos moutons et à Feed Me Billy, clairement réservé à un public averti. L’atmosphère visuelle fait directement référence à la conception populaire que nous nous faisons du snuff movie, soit des vidéos de mauvaise qualité dans lesquelles notre imagination comble les trous des immondices qui défilent à l’écran. Un grand cru qui possède ce côté insolent et bébête des premières fois.
Heartworm
Développeur : Vincent Adinolfi - Demo
Heartworm sait réciter sa leçon du parfait petit clône de Resident Evil. Avec ses plans de caméra soignés et son superbe accompagnement sonore, les 20 petites minutes passés en sa compagnie annoncent le meilleur et j’ai hâte que son créateur Vincent Adinolfi m’en donne un plus gros morceau à me mettre sous les pouces !
Midnight Scenes
Développeur : Octavi Navarro - Jeux complets
Midnight Scenes possède déjà deux épisodes avec un troisième à la sortie prévue prochainement. Se terminant chacun en une vingtaine de minutes, les deux titres nous donnent l’impression de jouer à une version pont ‘n click d’un épisode de Night Springs in Alan Wake ou encore de Twilight Zone. Le pixel art fait mouche et une fois n’est pas coutume la bande sonore joue un rôle crucial dans cette courte expérience en nous immergeant du début à la fin des histoires paranormales.
NextDoor
Développeur : Broelbrak - Jeu complet
NextDoor constitue un hommage revendiqué aux histoires de fantômes de Junji Ito, en particulier ses Mimi No Kaidan. Lugubre et jouissant d’un final glaçant, foncez sans hésiter sur ce fragment d’effroi, pudique mais néanmoins diablement efficace.
Night Shift
Développeur : Puppet Combo - Jeu complet
Puppet Combo, encore lui ! Il s’agit de sa création qui repose le plus sur l’effet de surprise, à tel point qu’il relève ici le pari osé de vous faire vous ennuyer derrière le comptoir d’une station-service, alors que vous travaillez de nuit. Vous rangez les rayons, jouez un peu sur la borne d’arcade… un client rentre. Vous le servez, il repart. Les secondes, les minutes s’égrainent. Passer le balai peut-être ? Un instant ! Est-ce que j’aperçois les phares d’une voiture sur le parking ? Et hop vous voilà à fixer la forêt sombre qui entoure votre établissement paumé. Je ne vous en dirai pas plus mais une chose est certaine : Night Shift sait nous mener à la baguette.
