Submitted to the FEFFS, Black gulls tells the story of a group of miners hurled a thousand meters underground to satisfy the whims of a mysterious professor. Captured by the ancient horror of a bloodthirsty creature, they will have to survive in the most complete darkness. Will this desecrated crypt also be their tomb?
Interview with Amir El Kacem and Mathieu Turi
We met Amir El Kacem who holds the lead role and Mathieu Turi, director of Black gulls. We discuss the stakes of his last film tribute to Lovecraft, but also of the video game industry that he loves as much as the seventh Art, he who exchanges regularly with Kojima San. Black gulls is expected in the hall for November 15 everywhere in France.
Mathieu Turi, director of Black Gueules
Mathieu Turi made his first shorts at the age of 15. Formed at the ESRA, it oscillates between films shot in 16 mm, Trash, his first action feature and more experimental films like N, shot in a single sequence plane. Sons of Chaos is noticed in 2010, then Broken, Awarded in 2013 in Los Angeles. After this drama, Mathieu Turi returns to a post-apo universe with Hostile. In 2021, Meander is rewarded in many festivals. Black gulls is his last feature film.
