If science fiction often rhymes with depression, Ugo Bienvenu offers a radically different approach with his latest animated film Arco. Animated jewel, Arco was born of the imagination of an author who became a father and was anxious to bequeath something other than anxiolytics to future generations. Diametrically opposed to the SF hard Mars Express of Jérémie Périn (see our Interview) which had hit us during his presentation to Annecy too, Arco is a success. The project received special care for writing as very high-fly animation. Special mention to doublers! Two forms, two visions: one optimistic, the other pessimistic to marry the fears of our time with the hope of a better world. Arco is to be seen today. We invite you to discover our exchange with its creator Ugo Welcome, whom we met at Annecy last summer.
