There are films that do not necessarily reinvent the grammar of horror but that know how to combine the genre with rigour. Amelias Children Gabriel Abrantes clearly fits into this classic but effective category, all sprinkled second degree. Orphaned since his birth, Edward discovered in adulthood that he had a twin and an elderly mother named Amelia. Together with his girlfriend Ryley, he decided to respond to their invitation to come and meet them in their magnificent house in the Portuguese forest.

Faces... disfigure

First malaise for Edward (as for the spectator), compared to the refined features of his son, the matriarch has a face that is to say at least captivated by the dreads of life. You will have understood the euphemism very quickly after the first meeting. Without exaggeration, one is faced with a confusing mixture between Brigitte Macron and the Bogdanoff brothers, that is to say the curious creature! From thread to needle, the reunion will shift to unhealthy family therapy. We explain to you with Brice why this falsely familiar film comes out with honours thanks to incarnate actors and a few scenes with friendly ring humor. A film intended for the general public and therefore much more classic than Diamentino who won the Award of the Week of Criticism in Cannes in 2018. You're warned!

Fauncing familiarity even if it is comforted in common places, this fantastic-horrific drama that goes back to the genealogical tree of Portuguese folklore (not without hischcockian DNA) is interested in eternal youth in a paradise of facade (at the European decor) where a cauldron filled with ring humor, Malaysian scenes and projections of violence. Let us embrace the truth that time commands old age to destroy beauty!
