After ordering us to look with Egg, the French-Tunisian director Karim Dridi returns with a work passed by the Cannoese ACID: Failing. Title wink - or elbow - in contempt of a political class as obsessed by its "brown swells" as by the very liberal notion of "efficiency", the film is a real punk and feminine work. Apart from everything that the cinema usually drinks us, confusing, political, is a feature film that is not seen every day. You might as well take advantage of its spring in physical format to dive.

Happiness

Djoul (.jU) and Nina (Faddo Jullian), two "sisters" as they call themselves, are violently ejected from a squat in Brittany. They then took the road in their old truck, to cross France. Loves, joys and galleys are necessarily at the rendezvous, according to the interlope nights they cross within this parallel hexagon, in this infra-world punk that they live day after day.

Women's tandem, broken-mouth cinema, Failing From its title questions the gentle contempt of the political and bourgeois class for this world which is readily described as dihippy or marginal. The lazy, the toothless, the less than nothing... We know well this sweet music susurred by France start-up, the one that gets up early, that succeeds and that works, it. And in a nice punk gesture, Failing Makes him a sacred finger of honor that attaches itself to representing the mouths that are not shown on large screen, the accents and sentences that are never heard there, the bodies that disgust standards in which they are wanted to be locked.

Punk, really?

Indeed, in a pure punk gesture Failing Should have totally absolved the scenario and its castrative order. Unfortunately, he comes back too often (to close his narrative in the form of a loop, to narrate an argument, then reunion, to connect the fate of two characters), and that is a pity. The feature film would have been perfect in a scrub that would have married about him. There, he too often tries to hang up on the script train to totally convince...

Smaller reproach, but still blames: if he had wanted to marry the punk code, Failing Should have sampled several tens of minutes. Aesthetic punk: simplicity (the film despite its scripture turns), the os, brevity. A brevity that would have forced Failing rather a duration of 1h20 than the almost two hours of the feature film. Two hours of numbness of several unwelcome soft stomachs.

Lazy experience

If we were to dream of his viewing of his alter ego cut in los, perfectly a-narrative, we do not lie: Failing is anything but mainstream cinema. And it's as nice to see as it is to hear.
